OUR MISSION

Skillz Den is founded on the belief that, given the opportunity, anyone - young or old - can learn valuable handcraft skills.
We believe that handcrafting and creativity are powerful drivers of social change and that they can play a key role in fostering sustainable creative entrepreneurship.

Through innovative, practical workshops, Skillz Den teaches work-based learning strategies across a range of handcraft disciplines.

Our experienced and skilled local tutors are central to our programmes and we look forward to expanding our offerings through collaborations with international tutors in future projects and workshops.

The South African public education system has many shortcomings.

Limited access to hand craft skills like woodworking, sewing, decorative crafting and other hand crafts training.
Economic and social challenges restricting opportunities.
On top of it public schools are overcrowded and teachers are struggling with discipline.

We aim to empower people by:

providing a maker space with all the equipment needed.
providing expierenced and innovative local tutors for the different courses.
providing international skilled and specizialized tutors for workshops based on their specialization trade.
